Annabelle Lipsies Fruity Lip Balm Review

Hey everyone! It's been a long time since my last post but I'm very happy today to bring you a review on one of the new drugstore lip balms I encountered recently. It is the Annabelle Lipsies Fruity Lip Balm. When I first saw these babies on the shelf I was just like "OK STOP RIGHT THERE" there stood the new Annabelle tinted lip balm in various "fruity" scented varieties. I went ahead and bought two of the lip balms, one of them I bought since I thought I might like the scent the other I bought purely due to the color of the balm.

So I have here Melon and Coco-Vanilla.

Personally I like Melon for the scent and the color as you can see on my swatch. I bought melon purely for the scent and I bought Coco-Vanilla for the color which really disappointed me. Coco-Vanilla showed no color pigmentation and I didn't have a preference for the scent. Sad to say this one will be going back, however, there are a few others which I wanted to try as well so I'll be picking those up to try in the next few days.

Now that we got the smell aside, lets talk about how well these lip balms work. I put on a thin layer of these babies and for about 30 minutes I didn't find it drying out my lips. It stayed fragrant, pigmented and moisturizing. Now I haven't put it on for longer than 30 minutes since I wiped it off to eat but I'll be doing that for the next few days and follow up this post with an update. So far I'm really loving this as an alternative to my YSL lip balm which I absolutely love but I'm always hesitant to use it since its so pricey ($39CAD). These Annabelle lipsies are about $5 CAD so I highly recommend picking one of these up and trying it for yourself!

Pros:

- Smells heavenly
- Moisturizing for at least 30minutes
- Cheap!

Cons:

- I would have prefered pigmentation on the Coco-Vanilla like the packaging
- It does contain paraffinum which is a mineral oil which I know some people don't like

Rating: 4/5

  2. You're very welcome Jenn! The watermelon does make my lips very red with more than one swipe and I've been wanting to pick up the fruit punch for a try as well!
